Welcome to Paldea. Three stories, one open world, 120 new Pokémon and no fixed order to explore them.

Paldea is a sun-drenched region based on the Iberian Peninsula, a place of open countryside, coastal cliffs, snowy mountains and ancient ruins that hide something stranger than any of them. The player arrives at the Naranja or Uva Academy for a Treasure Hunt — go anywhere in Paldea and find your own treasure. Three stories open simultaneously and can be pursued in any order.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the first fully open-world games in the mainline Pokémon series. Paldea has no loading zones, no route borders and no invisible walls between areas — the world blends towns, wilderness, mountains and ocean into a single contiguous map that the player and their legendary ride Pokémon — Koraidon in Scarlet, Miraidon in Violet — can traverse by running, swimming, climbing and flying. The three storylines are Victory Road (the traditional Gym challenge, completable in any order), Path of Legends (tracking down giant Titan Pokémon with a classmate named Arven), and Starfall Street (dismantling the student gang Team Star with the mysterious Cassiopeia). All three converge in a shared finale at Area Zero, the game's central mystery. One hundred and twenty new Pokémon join the roster, including Paradox Pokémon — ancient and futuristic variants of existing species, exclusive to each version. The Terastal phenomenon allows any Pokémon to crystallise and change its type in battle. Up to four players can explore together in online co-op. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC adds two new regions: the rural Kitakami and the underwater Blueberry Academy.

Key Features: • Fully open Paldea: no loading zones, explore towns, wilderness, mountains and ocean freely • Three parallel storylines completable in any order, converging in a shared finale at Area Zero • 120 new Pokémon including version-exclusive Paradox Pokémon from the ancient past and far future • Terastal phenomenon: Pokémon crystallise and change type in battle • DLC: The Teal Mask + The Indigo Disk + Mochi Mayhem
