Spring arrives and seeds go into the ground. Summer grows the crops. Autumn brings the harvest and fills the silos. Winter slows everything and demands planning for what comes next. This is the rhythm of Farming Simulator 22, and players who find it compelling tend to find it very compelling indeed.

Farming Simulator 22 is the most fully featured entry in Giants Software's long-running series, introducing seasonal cycles for the first time — each season affecting which crops can be planted, how quickly fields deteriorate and what the landscape looks like. Production chains link the farm's output to processing facilities: wheat becomes flour becomes bread, sugar beets become sugar, grapes and olives become wine and olive oil. Three maps span European and American agricultural settings. Over 400 licensed machines from more than 100 manufacturers are included: John Deere, CLAAS, Fendt, Case IH, New Holland, Massey Ferguson, Deutz-Fahr, Valtra and dozens more, each modelled to represent the real equipment. Animal husbandry covers cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and horses. Up to six players cooperate online on the same farm. Mods from the official Giants ModHub and Steam Workshop extend the game extensively. Farming Simulator 22 was the first game in the series published directly by Giants Software rather than a third-party publisher.
