The Witness is a first-person puzzle game developed by Jonathan Blow — creator of Braid — and one of the most ambitious, discussed and divisive games in the history of independent development. Set on a beautiful, mysterious island that you wake up on with no memory, The Witness is inspired by Myst in its open-world structure but is entirely its own invention: across more than 500 puzzles distributed across dozens of distinct environmental zones, the game never once explains its rules with words. Every puzzle is a line-drawing maze on a panel, but each zone introduces a new layer of symbolic logic that must be inferred entirely from observation and experience, generating what Jonathan Blow called "miniature epiphanies over and over again".

Key Features: • 500+ puzzles — every one a line-drawing maze, every zone a new layer of symbolic logic • No instructions — the island teaches you its rules entirely through observation and play • Open-world island — dozens of distinct environmental zones, each with its own visual language • Hidden environmental puzzles — the deepest secrets are invisible until you learn to see them
