Near-future air combat with immersive physics. From dogfights to nuclear strikes, the battlefield is yours to dominate.

The battlefield is three-dimensional, dynamic and full of things that will kill you from any direction. You are flying a near-future aircraft across a contested zone where land, air and sea forces are all actively engaged — and somewhere in the loadout is a weapon that can end the engagement in a very definitive way.

Nuclear Option is a near-future air combat simulation with immersive physics, set across dynamic battlefields populated by AI-controlled land, air and sea forces. Players fly advanced aircraft through campaigns and custom scenarios, engaging in dogfights, ground attack missions and large-scale multi-element operations. The weapon roster spans conventional ordnance through to tactical and strategic nuclear weapons, making escalation a genuine mechanical choice with consequences proportional to the weapon's yield. Combat is physics-driven and rewards energy management, threat awareness and weapon employment doctrine rather than twitch reflexes alone. A level editor and Steam Workshop allow the community to build and share custom scenarios, maps and campaigns. The full multiplayer suite supports both competitive and cooperative online play. The developer, Shockfront Studios, has committed to keeping the game in Early Access into 2027 or beyond, treating the access period as a long-term development commitment rather than a shortcut to release.
