Hunt colossal machines across the Deadlands. Create your hunter, choose your tribe and forge a legend.

The Deadlands stretch across what was once Arizona and New Mexico — a harsh, sun-blasted territory in the post-apocalyptic world of Horizon, where mechanical creatures roam in numbers and the tribes that live here have learned to hunt them or die. You are not Aloy. You are a machine hunter of your own making, and the Deadlands are waiting.

Horizon Steel Frontiers is a free-to-play MMORPG set in the Horizon universe, developed by NCSoft in close collaboration with Guerrilla Games. Rather than following a single protagonist, the game centres on a fully custom machine hunter drawn from the Horizon universe's tribes — Nora, Tenakth, Utaru, Oseram and others — each with their own armour aesthetics, traditions and lore. Combat is built around the franchise's signature machine hunting: targeting weak points, destroying armour panels, climbing onto disabled machines to set traps or recover components, and coordinating with other players in large-scale cooperative raids. The Deadlands is an open world shared with thousands of simultaneous players. The game is set during the events of the main Horizon storyline, taking place while Aloy and her allies are active in the north, and features machines and variants developed in direct collaboration between NCSoft and Guerrilla. Inspired by Monster Hunter's cooperative raid structure, it aims to deliver the scale and spectacle of the Horizon universe's machine encounters as a multiplayer experience. It runs on Unreal Engine 5 and is designed as mobile-first with full PC availability via NCSoft's PURPLE platform.
